Where should i drill a hole in my '89 Ford Ranger's firewall for amp power?

I have a 1989 Ford Ranger STX and am trying to hook up my new amp and sub. I have read up on how to do this and it all makes sense, i just cannot find a place to run the power wire thru the firewall. I do not see any open holes to put it through, so it

don't drill,,,,, on the drivers side to the left of the steering colum ,,,about 2" from where it goes through the firewall is a rubber plug,,, remove it , run youre wire through it and put it back,,,,if you drill then you'll have air coming in
