Is my Alpine CDA-7839 car stereo iPod cable ready?
I bought a used car a few months ago and it had an Alpine CDA-7839 stereo installed in it. I wanted to listen to my iPod music through my car stereo, so I bought a few of those FM transmitters but found them to be too static-y. Someone told me that
that model is going back a lil while....and if i remember it does have the ability to run a CD changer
the problem is the alpines used two types of bus lines for changer control...one was M bus( older models) and AI-net bus lines..newer

If you're looking for a CD slot on the Alpine iDA-X001, you won't find one. Instead, there is a single built-in audio source that links up to your iPod and displays that familiar interface on its 320 x 240 pixel color TFT display.

For graduation, Steve bought me an Alpine iDA-X001 for my Subaru - it's the car I commute in, so access to all my podcasts and songs is going to be nice! It was developed with folks from Apple. The iPod integration is pretty spiffy. Get this: It does not include a CD player!
