What type of glue should I use to patch a waterproof car cover?

I have some Budge blue water proof car covers. They get ripped fairly easily and I have some of the same material to patch them with. I have tried using 3M spray adhesive which is used on automotive applications (moldings, headliners, etc). I used

If you cant screw it, gorilla glue it. Gorilla glue is for wood. Silicone will work.
