Boat Starter Sticking?

On my outboard motor my starter continues to stick, especially when it gets warm. It looks like what ever type of lubricant they used heats ups and sticks. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Do you know what I could spray it with to stop the sticking?

In my limited experience (25 yrs tech), any lubrication and cleaning is a temporary fix. The bottom line is the starter drive is worn, and needs replacing. Drive replacement kits run between $45-$100. If you want to try a lubricant, use graphited
