Are there any motorcycle mechanic training programs in the Chicago Area?

I'm interested in learning the basics of motorcycle repair- I'd like to do track days and maybe try racing, but I don't have the background at this point. I don't want to do online classes or just read the manual, I'm nervous about making a mistake and
the BEST school in the country to look into is M.M.I. there are two campuses one in phoenix and one in Orlando. check em out online!

Piecing it together: Mechanic restores past, 1 bike at a time

A Harley-Davidson motorcycle isn't known for speed.
So for Rae Giles, restoring one is not only a slow process but kind of like a jigsaw puzzle.
Though it doesn't hurt that he is sitting on what is essentially a giant pile of puzzle pieces. He just needs to find the right ones for what he is working on.
For about the past 10 years, Giles has been working out of the old Kent's Harley-Davidson building on Walnut Street, restoring older two-wheeled masterpieces to the look of their glory days.
Those motorcycles are then placed in Kent's showroom on display next to the new motorcycles. The classics, however, are not for sale.
Giles began working for Kent's owner Kent Waddell in 1977 as a salesman after retiring from the Air Force. He later moved to California, where he lived for about 10 years. After moving back to Abilene, Giles helped to get the new Kent's location opened up in 2001.
"I was planning on retiring. I thought I was getting too old for sales," Giles said. "Then Kent asked me if I would be interested in restoring some of the old bikes."
